A safer way for your young person to find their first job
Sprout is built for 16–21 year olds. Every part of the platform is designed with under-18 safeguarding in mind — from how messages work, to what employers can see.
All chat stays on Sprout
Employers cannot ask for a phone number, personal email, WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat or any off-platform contact. Our system automatically blocks these details from being sent in either direction until a formal offer is made.
You can see what your young person sees
Every job and business profile has a plain public page — no login needed. Use the "Share with parent / guardian" button on any job to send it to yourself for review.
Employer profiles are transparent
Businesses list their address, category, website and description. Sponsor businesses are additionally reviewed by our admin team before they're marked as verified.
Application only when they choose
Personal contact details (name, email, phone) are only shared with an employer when your young person actively submits an application — never from browsing or messaging alone.
How to support them
- Sit down together and browse open jobs and local businesses.
- Help them build a strong CV in the CV tool — it saves once and reuses everywhere.
- Read the employer's full description and website before applying.
- If an employer ever asks to move chat off Sprout, don't. Report it to us instead.
- Talk about interviews: what to wear, what to ask, safe travel to and from the venue.
If something feels wrong
If a business asks for money, personal contact details before applying, meet-ups outside a workplace, or anything that makes your young person uncomfortable — stop, don't reply, and email us at safeguarding@sprout.jobs. We investigate every report.
